Improve Pet Health
Monitoring your pet and its overall well being is key when ensuring that he or she remains happy. As the saying goes, “A happy pet is a healthy pet” and this can be done in a wide variety of manners.
Monitor Food Consumption: It's wise to have a set eating plan for your pets at a young age to avoid obesity later on in life. Even though many owners leave a bowl of food out all day for your pet to much on as he or she pleases, it's wise to monitor their consumption, and to weigh them once a month. If your pet is not getting enough, or is eating too much food, it's best to cut back the amount of food given or to increase the food to ensure that your pet is at a healthy weight.
Clean Teeth Happy Teeth: Making sure that you and your pets dental state is in good condition is key in their overall happiness. If you have ever had a toothache, you can understand how painful, uncomfortable an plain miserable that is for you, and equally your pet. Therefore, it is wise to ensure that your pet is taken to the vet for dental check ups and that their dental care is being adhered to through the use of chewies, or bits of stick (for ferrets, Hamsters of Guinea Pigs) to keep their teeth in peek condition. Be sure to research what you pet needs to have healthy teeth, because each pet requires different methods of keeping their teeth clean.
Clean Safe Enviornment: Keeping your pets home safe and hazard free is important when maintaining your pets overall health. Not all foods, objects or even worse house hold cleaners are good to use around your pets. Therefore, it is wise to research the cleaners, and the toys that you give your pet to prevent any emergency trips to the vet. Some toys, if too small for your furry friend or pet, can become a choking hazard and should not be given to your pet for safety reasons.
Equally, if you have a small pet, such as a Guinea Pig, Ferret or Hamster, the type of bedding, cleaner and materials you use to furnish their little condos may cause health issues such as: Upper Respiratory infections, Watery eyes or sneezing. Therefore, it is best that you monitor (and research beforehand) any new bedding, toys or cleaners that you use to ensure that your pet has a safe, happy environment to live in.
