Hi, I’m Mr. Keith
Founder of Pet-A-Care (Pet-And-Care).
I aim to bring my decade of experience in the pet-sitting industry to meet your ambition to learn more about leaving your pet(s) in the care of others.
I created this website to answer a basic question of pet owners, “What do I need to consider when I leave my pet in the care of someone else?” Whether you believe you’ve answered this question already or are looking for an answer, here you’ll find a comprehensive, step-by-step plan designed to help you and your pet(s) achieve greater peace of mind when away from each other.

If you have to be away from your pet(s) and you’re looking for actionable strategies, then you’re in the right place. I'm sharing everything I’ve learned in my ten years as a professional pet sitter working directly with pet parents and their wonderful pets.
Farmers Insurance is known for saying, “We know a little bit because we’ve seen a little bit,” and I share this view. I’ve experienced the good and the bad, resulting in learning many beneficial do’s and absolute don’ts, which I want to share.
My goal is to help you develop fulfilling relationships with your pet sitter so both you and your pet(s) have the best experience possible. I will share what I see as best practices and classic pitfalls faced by many pet owners. I have worked diligently for many years caring for pets and wish to provide you with the very best information possible.

It’s a fact Americans are traveling much more today than in previous decades. Whether it’s for vacation, business, or visiting loved ones, our transportation systems are hustling and bustling at an incredible pace. So what are pet owners doing with their pets when they must travel? If it were so easy to just take them with us. Wouldn’t that be nice! However, we consistently face the challenge of what to do with our pets when we must travel, get sick or have a personal emergency. Some pet owners attempt to solve this problem by taking their pets with them, only to discover cases of hotel restrictions, travel-induced pet illnesses, and runaway pets often turn positive trips into a disaster. Other pet owners turn over the care of their pets to well-meaning but inexperienced family, neighbors or friends. Again, the results can be mixed. We started as professional pet care providers. We provided care in the client’s home while they are away. The idea came to us when we were constantly challenged with finding good care for our own pets when we couldn't take them with us. Moving as often as every 2 to 3 years due to military commitments, we rarely had family or close friends nearby to assist us. Since our experience with pet boarding was less than desirable, we determined to one day start a pet sitting business as an alternative to pet boarding to assist others who had the same challenge we did. We think of it as providing a much-needed and sought-after community service. Today, we have taken our lessons learned and packaged them to share with pet owners who find themselves challenged with pet care when they have to travel without their pets.
Our Personal Experience and Approach
We personally had several pets of our own; a proud lab/retriever, Marley, a wonderful yellow lab, Bella, a cute as a button Chi-Poo, Sugar, a bearded dragon, Mylez, and a dwarf bunny, Oreo (better known as double stuffed Oreo). We know from firsthand experience that finding someone trustworthy to care for your pets can be extremely difficult and stressful. That's why it was important to us to offer pet care in such a manner that both the owners and pets were as comfortable as possible.
We became pet first aid trained, pet CPR certified, and pet care bonded and insured. Now that we’re taking our near 10 years of experience to help you with your pets!
